Track 2
HAMA House — Living Room

For this session, what I am suggesting is the Cognitive Shuffle Exercise1.
Cogni— huh? Whazzat?
This is a method that allows one to fall asleep by thinking of unrelated words in quick succession.
I will act as your guide, Iwabuchi-sama. So please close your eyes, follow along, and repeat after me.
Gotcha. I’ll leave it up to ya.
Then, let us begin. Archive, Architecture, Arc Lamp…
Archive, Architecture, Arc Lamp.
Azure, Admiral Assessment Affordance, Annotation, Antidisestablishmentarianism2……
Azure, Admiral Assessment Affordance, Annotation, Antidisestablishmentarianism……
——Amorphous Silicon Solar Cells, Additive Manufacturing…
Amorphous Silicon? Solar Cells, Additive Manufa…

——Argh! No way I’m dozin’ off with this!
Can ya like, I dunno, use shorter, easier to say words instead? The ones ya use’re keepin’ me wide awake.
Orders received. It appears that my randomized word generator function has become rather unstable. Then, starting over——
Yacht, Yakitori, Yard, Yawn, Yams…3
Timeskip. The sun rises, it is now morning.
(The morning sun’s light is seeping through the windows… Perhaps this sleep plan was not suited to Iwabuchi-sama’s needs after all.)
(But, right now——)

——Low battery percentage remaining. Now entering sleep mode…
…nh? Kinari?
…Whaaat, it’s morning already?
Oiiiii, ya asleep or?
………
How come the one puttin’ the other to sleep gets knocked out first?
…Good grief. Look at you, dozin’ off all peacefully.
If you were already that sleepy, ya didn’t hafta stay up so late with me, yeah? It’s on me for pushin’ ya to your limits.
…Guess I’ll carry ya up to your room.
Al—righty….
Daniel picks up Kinari on his back
HAMA House — 2nd Floor Hallway

You’re waaaaay heavier than expected, huh, Kinari. I bet I’ll sleep like a baby once I’m done gettin’ ya back there.

The original text is 藍色・アドミラル・アセスメント・アフォーダンス、アノテーション、安全衛生委員会 (Indigo, Admiral Assessment Affordance, Annotation, Health and Safety Committee). All of these words begin in A, and as the translation for the first and last words do not, I opted to replace them with words that start with A, something that has a similar meaning way.
For 全衛生委員会 in particular, "Antidisestablishmentarianism" was a choice because the full noun is in kanji, making it difficult to verbalize and read both.
In the original text (やかん、焼き芋、やじるし、やま、ヤシの実), Daniel says words that begin in the syllable 'ya', as Japanese is a syllabic language. Accordingly localized to "easy to say" words, just as he had requested.
